Meet Tony Landis

Founder of The Education and Career Solutions Laboratory (TECSOL)

Tony’s Story

Tony Landis didn’t start with a clear roadmap—he had to create one.

At 19 years old, as a first-generation college student, Tony was balancing school and music when he came close to signing a major record deal. When that opportunity fell apart, he faced a defining choice: chase a dream with no guarantees, or stay in school and build a different path.

He chose to stay.

That decision changed the trajectory of his life—and ultimately shaped his life’s work.

Today, Tony is the Founder of The Education and Career Solutions Laboratory (TECSOL), where he partners with states, institutions, and organizations to redesign how education connects to careers. His work focuses on building systems that don’t just exist on paper—but actually work for the people navigating them.

With more than 30 years of experience across state government and national organizations, Tony has helped design career pathways, credit transfer systems, and workforce strategies that impact learners at scale.

But what truly defines his work is this:
  • A belief that lived experience should shape how systems are built
  • A commitment to making opportunity real—not theoretical
  • A focus on helping people see—and access—pathways they didn’t know existed

Because Tony knows firsthand—your path won’t always be clear.

But with the right systems in place, it can still lead somewhere powerful.
